January 10th
We report: today, we did not get too close to the shore. It is a little scary, the winter sea, sharp and icy. We cannot tell whether the salt that we are tasting on our face is from the sea or the tears that the cold wind pulled from our eyes. Same difference, is it not?
January 9th
We report about our dear, small winter sun still struggling to do very much, still looking a little peaky till noon and after noon as well. Are we to blame the poor thing on a icy morning such as this one, though? Or are we projecting onto it our own unwillingness to wake up?
January 8th
We report: our universe has a lot of void in it, places where there is no sound or light or air. Knowing this, we feel quite lucky to exist in one of the places where there is sound and light and air, in a way that sometimes makes us very happy - like this freezing, full morning.
January 7th
We report about this January day, the coldest it has been in this (unknown) place for this winter so far. The air is crisp, chilly, and brittle, all of those things, and we have no gloves, so our hands are becoming all those things, as well as "purple". It is starting to hail.
January 6th
We report: the wind blew from the north this afternoon, which was fine. We do not know if it was the reason the sky was this blue, or the sun was this bright, but surely not, yes? Here, the wind usually blow from the southwest, so we would not know. It happened anyway.
January 5th
We report about a really long sunset. It kept on going, to the point where it was a little rude. The way it was, we were standing there, nowhere to sit, and we were already late for something. We would make to go, look back, realise that we really had to stay. Just cannot leave.
January 4th
We report: we went to the planetarium with our expert, once. We spent an hour watching as we got further, and further away from Earth, then the solar system, our galaxy, and then our galaxy group, until there was nowhere to go anymore. We got brought home, to our beating heart.
January 3rd
We report from under this leaden sky, one that will collapse under its own weight any second. Everything was night-dark until the sun came out - from where, we cannot tell, and the light is moving in waves, but it is bright enough to get us squinting. It already smells like rain.
January 2nd
We report: all things considered - and we certainly did consider all of the things, we did - the sky has not been very different from what it was before the new year. We are starting to wonder what was all the fuss. Although we are quite happy with the sky the way it was, and is.
January 1st
We report about the tentative first lights of the new year, not all that bright or vibrant yet, which is more than fine by us. We have not yet cleared the ashes of the past year, and it will take us a little bit more time still. We took the wind with us through the night.
